Below are step-by-step instructions for Canvas administrators to integrate with Forage after the account has been activated by Forage Admins.
Step 1: Generate Registration URL
- Log into Forage for Educators as an Admin: https://educator.theforage.com/
- Go to LMS Integrations ⇒ Add Integration
- Copy the Registration URL
Step 2: Register LTI (Canvas Admin)
- Log into Canvas as an Admin.

Go to Admin → Apps → Manage ⇒ Install a New App
- Select LTI Version “1.3”
- Select Install Method “Dynamic Registration”
- Input the Registration URL from Forage for Educators app
- Click Next until the end
- Copy the Client ID from the App details page
Go to Admin → Apps → Manage ⇒ Install a New App
Select LTI Version = 1.3, Select Install Method = Dynamic Registration
Copy the Client ID from the App details page
Step 3: Enable the tool in a Course

Go to a Course → Settings → Apps ⇒ View App Configurations ⇒ Click “+ App”
- Select Configuration Type: By Client ID
- Enter the Client ID generated in the last Step
- Click Submit
- Reload the page and you should see Forage LTI shows up in the app list and also the left hand page navigation panel.
Go to a Course → Settings → Apps ⇒ View App Configurations ⇒ Click “+ App”
Enter the Client ID generated in the last Step and click Submit, before reloading

Install the “Forage LTI” tool.
Step 4: Add Forage to a Course (Instructor)
- Navigate to the desired Canvas course
- Click Assignments or Pages or Modules

Click + to add a new item
- In Assignments, click on the vertical ellipsis to bulk add
- Select External Tool in Submission Type ⇒ Find ⇒ Forage LTI
- Select the content to embed

Configure:
- Points: 100
- Display Grade as Points
- Click Save

Publish the module
